Fire Risk Assessor

**Overview
A leading healthcare provider is seeking a skilled Fire Risk Assessor to support fire safety compliance across its Southern region portfolio, including care homes, clinics, and offices.
**Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed fire risk assessments across residential care homes, clinics, and offices.
- Perform comprehensive fire safety surveys of passive and active systems (e.g., compartmentation, fire doors, alarms, emergency lighting).
- Carry out fire door surveys as required.
- Liaise with the Senior Fire Advisor and support fire safety projects.
- Coordinate with alarm contractors to verify compliance of new or modified systems with British Standards.
- Conduct post-fire inspections and document findings with clear justifications.
- Provide guidance to site managers, property teams, and contractors based on assessment outcomes.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation in consultations with enforcing authorities and, if required, in court.
- Promote fire safety policies and undertake relevant training.
- Operate as part of the fire safety team within the property department (no direct budget or staff responsibilities).
**Qualifications & Training
Any formal relevant Fire Risk / Safety Qualification
Client will train and pay for level 4 Fire Risk Assessor course

Membership with IFE, IFSM, or similar – advantageous.

**Experience
- Proven experience in life safety systems and fire safety compliance.
- Skilled in conducting and auditing fire risk assessments.
- Experience in structural surveys to identify fire and smoke spread risks.
- Background in a fire and rescue service fire safety department – beneficial.
**Skills & Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Full, current UK driving licence.
**Additional Duties
- Meet performance objectives and targets.
- Monitor and report on fire safety performance.
- Develop effective communication and partnerships.
- Provide strategic input on fire safety issues.
**Salary
£40,000 per annum, rising to £42,000 upon successful completion of probation.
+ Car + paid milage and any overnight hotel stay + meal allowance where necessary but quite rarely needed
