Energy Consultant

Role Overview

The role will focus on being responsible for delivering valuations to RICS Redbook standard relating to all major renewable energy technologies in the UK market, freehold and operational interests, and projects from early stage to repowering. The role will also include an opportunity to support the growth of this team from it's strong foundations. The team has been an established valuer of energy projects for over a decade, providing valuations for individual projects and portfolios across the UK. Valuations include retained clients considering portfolios of both operational and freehold interests, as well loan security work and working with other teams within Savills to deliver cross sector work such as diversified rural estates and commercial property.

There is also scope for managing transactions for both sell side and buy side mandates on similar assets to that described above, or there is scope for a role working with our development team acting for Landowner's and developers in negotiating land terms.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking candidates that have demonstrable experience in all or a significant proportion of the areas described above. RICS registered valuer is preferred. The candidate should have at least three years' experience. The candidate will be expected to be responsible for the delivery of work streams and will report into the service line lead.

-Responsible for the delivery of RICS Redbook Valuations of energy assets
-Supporting transactional work with valuation and process management
-leading on their business development strategy

Key Skills

  • At least three years' experience in the energy sector
  • Understanding of property and operational business case around renewable energy projects
  • RICS Registered Valuer
  • Ability to build relationships with clients
  • In time, managing and mentoring junior staff and delegating work effectively

Team Overview

The Energy Investment team is part of the wider Savills Energy team which consists of 18 personnel. The Energy Team has three focus areas: Investment; as described above, Consultancy; which advises on the feasibility, development and installation of renewables, and the Development team; which, focusses on securing and negotiating land rights.
