Accounts Assistant

Kenton Black Finance have partnered with a business based in Ingleton who are a specialist in the industry they operate in. They are now recruiting for a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their team contributing to the financial health and efficiency of their organisation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and possess strong organisational skills. This job will require you to work on a full-time basis, but should you want to work part-time hours, then still apply for the job, as the company may consider a candidate who would like to work as little as 24 hours per week.

Your new job as the Accounts Assistant:

Bookkeeping - manage day to day financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.

Invoicing - prepare and issue invoices to clients, accurately recording sales and ensuring that timely payments are received.

Bank Reconciliation - undertake banking transactional activity and perform regular bank reconciliation to verify accuracy and completeness of financial records, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.

Expense Management - process employee expense claims, verifying receipts and coding expenses appropriately for reimbursement.

Supporting documentation - Maintain and organise accurate financial records, filing documents securely and in line with data protection guidelines

Communication - collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders responding to queries and providing information as required.

Experience & Qualifications required to apply:

  • Previous experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software (desirable), Excel and Word
  • A working familiarity with VAT transactions and the VAT return (desirable)
  • Driving license needed

Attention to detail - Strong numerical skills and a meticulous approach to data entry and financial record keeping

Organisational skills - Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple deadlines

Communication - Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal

Customer service - Good level of customer service skills. Confident dealing with a wide variety of customers and the ability to solve issues in a professional and efficient manner.

Problem solving - Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently

Flexibility - Working between 2 sites will require a level of adaptability and flexibility.

Pro-activity - Experience of improving processes and procedures that benefit the productivity and efficiency of the role and of the business in general.

Inquisitive - Have a desire to understand the business in its wider context. Be naturally inquisitive and willing to challenge the norm.
