Are you an experienced Project Engineer seeking an exciting temporary opportunity? Our client, a dynamic organisation in need of your expertise, is looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated individual to join their team for a temporary contract of 6 months. ??

?? With a competitive hourly rate ranging from £23.87, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills in a challenging and rewarding role. ??

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking liaison duties with utilities and demonstrating sound knowledge and understanding of their apparatus. You will utilise your in-depth knowledge of reinstatement materials and performance levels on different classification of roads. ??

Working both independently and as part of a small team, you will also possess an excellent understanding of the SROH for interpreting coring results. Your extensive knowledge of street and road works legislation, as well as Health and Safety regulations at live sites, will be crucial in ensuring compliance. Additionally, having a strong grasp of the street register and Street Manager works will contribute to your success in this role.

It will be important for you to be adaptable to working outdoors in all weather conditions. ??

In response to new legislation, you will take the lead in introducing processes to close historic trenches effectively. You will also attend site meetings, advocating for our client and upholding their reputation and financial obligations. Your ability to serve S74, FPNs, and defect fines will be essential, as well as raising challenges with statutory undertakers regarding imposed fines. ????

As a crucial part of our client's team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Service Manager and Senior Engineer in managing and delivering the service objectives and priorities. Your expertise and advice will contribute significantly to the success of the project.

Key responsibilities include being responsible for the end-to-end process of coring scheme design. This will involve carrying out site visits and assessments, scheduling meetings with consultants and contractors, and developing a works programme based on identified areas for coring. Collaborating with utilities on failed cores and establishing a programme of work will also be part of your role. You will consult with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure proper remedial permits are raised and traffic management plans are agreed upon where necessary. Additionally, you will conduct follow-up inspections of utility works and maintain accurate records of the financial aspects of the coring scheme. Your ability to produce cost-benefit analysis reports within a budget and draught comprehensive reports and statistical analyses for presentation to the Head of Highways and the Corporate body is vital. ??
