Your new company
An SME sized manufacturing organisation based in Shrewsbury. They are specialists in their field and offer creative and forward-thinking solutions to their clients. They are currently recruiting for an interim/temporary Buyer for a period of approximately 3-6 months (with a possibility of a long-term opportunity). The organisation works on a hybrid basis with flexibility to work from home two days per week.
Your new role
The Buyer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end buying cycle for a category of parts, materials and finished goods. This will include sourcing and quotations, negotiation and raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers and managing orders to delivery, and resolving supply chain issues. The Buyer will also develop supplier relations, including monitoring and managing performance. The role will maintain the MRP and will analyse management information.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be a Buyer or Purchasing Assistant with strong experience of purchasing and supplier management. You will have worked within a manufacturing, production or similar environment previously. It is vital that you have strong communication, organisational and negotiation skills. You will have strong working knowledge of MRP systems and MS Excel.
