I'm currently supporting a well-established food business that supplies some of the UK's top retailers, including Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, and Sainsbury's. They are looking to add a Food Technologist to their dynamic Technical team. Whether you're an experienced Food Technologist or a recent graduate looking for your first role in the industry, this position offers fantastic opportunities for growth and development.

The Role:
As a Food Technologist, you'll be supporting the Technical Managers and ensuring the business meets the highest standards of food safety and quality across the supply chain. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Technical Managers with day-to-day technical tasks and managing critical paths to ensure all project deadlines are met.
  • Working with suppliers and customers to ensure that technical information, including specifications, nutritional data, and allergens, are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Preparing for key events such as product reviews, customer sampling sessions, and market reviews by gathering samples and completing required paperwork.
  • Conducting site audits and creating detailed audit reports.
  • Assisting with non-conformance issues raised during audits and working with the team to close them out.
  • Completing and maintaining product specifications, as well as assisting with specification checks.
  • Supporting the Technical team in packaging and sending samples to customers, suppliers, and for analysis.

Key Skills & Experience:

If you're an experienced Food Technologist, you'll bring knowledge of food safety standards, quality assurance processes, and project management experience in a technical environment. You'll be confident in communicating with major retailers and suppliers to ensure compliance and quality standards are met.

If you're a graduate looking to get started in the industry, a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field will provide a strong foundation for this role. You'll need to be organised, proactive, and ready to learn in a fast-paced environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or relevant experience in the food industry.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • A passion for food quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.

What's On Offer:

  • The opportunity to work with industry-leading retailers on exciting product developments and launches.
  • A supportive and collaborative technical team environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Comprehensive training and career development.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow within the food industry. If you're ready for a new challenge or just starting your career, I'd love to hear from you. Get in touch today for more details and to discuss how this role could be the perfect fit for you!
