Strategic Sourcing Manager

Upwardly-mobile SME FMCG/Distribution business require a Strategic Sourcing Manager to achieve cost savings targets. The ability to develop procurement strategies and strategically manage key suppliers will also be required.

Reporting to the Head of Function the Strategic Sourcing Manager will develop procurement strategies that allow the business to achieve their cost saving targets.

Specific duties of the Strategic Sourcing Manager:

  • Negotiation of commercial T&Cs considering; early payment discounts, transport discounts etc.
  • Establish rebate agreements with the supply chain
  • Identify most cost effective routes to market
  • Supply market intelligence, supplier selection and supplier deselection activities
  • Assess how profit can be maximised on business' current product range and explore new products
  • Guide/Mentor junior members of the procurement team

Strategic Sourcing Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Proven track record in generating cost savings through strategic sourcing and negotiation activities
  • Procurement experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or distribution business
  • Previous exposure to indirect areas of spend categories would be advantageous
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and people skills
  • Ability to contribute to the overall business commercial strategy
