Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and engaging Active Outdoors Assistant to join our Visitor Experience team here at Hardwick Hall.

We're for everyone, for ever, and we really mean that. We want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy access to our places, reaching new and existing audiences in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them. You'll be ensuring that people of all ages find fun during Hardwick's Summer of Play.

This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible.

As an important member of the Visitor Experience team, you'll be key to ensuring a fun and safe summer of play for all visitors to Hardwick.

This is a lively, forward-thinking property and the team is looking for engaging people who will enjoy this fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

As an Active Outdoors Assistant you'll have an enthusiasm for delivering great active experiences in the outdoors. You'll be instrumental in supporting the outdoor activity offer here, helping as many people as possible engage with the outdoors and enjoy Hardwick. You'll help our visitors access our Summer of Play offer, as well as ensuring that equipment is maintained and stored appropriately.

There will be a variety of duties which range from welcoming and engaging with visitors, providing great information about the property and the activities on offer, setting up of equipment, leading participation and generally supporting the property to enable its Active Outdoors offer to be the best visitor experience it can be.

Who we're looking for We'd love to hear from you, if you're:

  • customer focused with an understanding of the importance of great service?
  • well organised and adaptable?
  • a team player, but can also work on own initiative?
  • willing to learn new skills have a positive attitude ?
  • understanding of different access requirements and how to assist people
