About the role
Calling all fabricator welders! Are you a professional fabricator welder, or fabrication & welding teacher, and looking for a new challenge? Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding role where you could be developing the skills, knowledge and professional behaviors of our future workforce of fabrication & welding engineers?

We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational and enthusiastic individual who would relish the opportunity to share their knowledge, skills and experience with students and apprentices, teaching a range of fabrication & welding units across Level 2 & 3 programmes including apprenticeship standards.

Although this contract is part time at 0.5fte, there are further PTVH hours available to 0.8fte.

This is a great opportunity to inspire our future engineers, teaching across our Level 2 & 3 programmes including NVQ 2 Performing Engineering Operations, Level 3 Diploma in Engineering & Technology, Fabricator Welder Apprenticeship etc. The successful candidate would bring confidence and experience with a breadth of engineering topics such as welding, sheet metal fabrication, pattern development, fabrication & welding principles as well as wider topics such as Health & Safety, Engineering Communication, etc.

About the person
You may be an experienced FE tutor already, or a newly qualified tutor, however, we would certainly encourage applications from candidates working in the fabrication & welding sector, or with a fabrication and welding background. Experience of leading projects/programmes would also be of benefit.

You should have a minimum of HND in a relevant Engineering discipline, or (and) relevant fabrication & welding industry standard qualifications and experience at Level 3 as a minimum. You will ideally possess a recognised teaching qualification and assessor/IQA awards, or would be keen and willing to work towards these with funding support from the College. Recent experience within the fabrication and welding sector would be a significant advantage.
