Design Coordinator

Our client is a leading Main Contractor in the North West, with a strong pipeline of significant Build schemes throughout the region. As Design Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of high-profile commercial projects. You will be responsible for coordinating all design activities, ensuring that the project meets all design requirements and is delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Coordination:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure all design elements are integrated effectively.

  • Manage and coordinate the design process from concept through to completion.

  • Ensure design compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.

  • Project Management:

  • Assist in the development and management of the design program and milestones.

  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the project team.

  • Identify and mitigate design-related risks and issues.

  • Communication:

  • Facilitate effective communication between the design team, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Prepare and present design proposals and reports.

  • Coordinate design meetings and workshops.

  • Documentation:

  • Ensure all design documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.

  • Oversee the submission and approval process of design deliverables.

  • Manage and control design changes and variations.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct regular design reviews and audits to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in the design process.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Design Coordinator or in a similar role within the construction industry, ideally with a Main Contractor.
  • Strong understanding of design processes, construction methods, and building regulations.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in design and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
