Metering Technician
- Hourly Rate: £14.27
- Location: Suffolk Region, Stowmarket (candidates must be located within 30 minutes of this location)
- Job Type: Full-time, Initial 12-week contract with potential for extension
We are looking for a self-motivated Metering Technician who enjoys working independently with the backing of a supportive team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the move, providing excellent customer service, and managing their own workload.
Day to day of the role:
- Obtain accurate readings from water meters across various locations.
- Carry out meter exchanges – full training will be provided.
- Collect and record meter data efficiently.
- Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring a professional image at all times.
- Walk approximately 3 to 8 miles per day as part of the role.
- Utilise a handheld computer to log work, requiring basic IT skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a role that requires being on your feet, such as retail or hospitality, is advantageous.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Professional demeanour – a uniform and van will be provided.
- Physically fit to manage the demands of walking long distances daily.
- Basic IT skills to operate handheld devices for work purposes.
- Must have a valid driving licence and be able to drive.
