Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments. Your role will be crucial in enhancing the educational and social development of these pupils. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the delivery of tailored educational programs.
- Supporting pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
- Using British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively with pupils.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers.
- Promoting inclusion and ensuring that all pupils feel valued and supported.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with pupils with hearing impairments.
- At least a basic level of British Sign Language (BSL) understanding.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications or training in special educational needs.
- Experience in a similar role within a school setting.
