Plantexpand is seeking a skilled Vehicle Service Technician to join our rapidly growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle and plant maintenance, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role requires a proactive approach to vehicle inspection, diagnosis, and repair, ensuring the efficient maintenance of asset fleets.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Inspect vehicles and diagnose any required work.
- Communicate necessary repairs with the admin team and customers.
- Estimate the time required for repairs and perform them accordingly.
- Road test vehicles to verify repair work or to diagnose faults.
- Install and service vehicle accessories such as parking sensors, cameras, towbars, and reverse cameras.
- Conduct service and vehicle system safety checks.
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks, including oil and filter changes, brake, clutch, gearbox, suspension, and diagnostics.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
- Carry out quality checks on all technicians' work and discuss findings.
- Visit off-site locations to perform safety-checked maintenance works when requested.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure personal and team well-being.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in plant and vehicle fitting.
- Full valid Driving Licence with 6 points or less.
- Relevant qualifications in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Maintain any required professional qualifications.
- Professional conduct that upholds the company's image and integrity.
- Problem-solving ability and initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-driven and proactive.
- Flexibility to work out of hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
