Financial Controller

We are working with a company based in Newport, South Wales, who are a well established business, with a group portfolio expanding in the UK over the next few years.

About the Role

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the finance departments and directly report into the MD. You will take ownership over producing timely and accurate management accounts for a number of different sites, integrating newly acquired businesses and new developments into the trading company. The successful candidate will be required to work with each site and to ensure accurate reporting.

You will have a positive and pro-active approach to the finance department.

Duties include:-

  • Full production of monthly management accounts including analysis and commentary
  • Prepare company budgets, forecasts and cash flow
  • Reconcile balance sheet
  • Control of fixed asset register
  • Responsible for Payroll and Pensions
  • Oversee Purchase and Sales Ledger
  • Credit Control and Debt Management
  • Complete HMRC returns including VAT and other statutory returns
  • Leadership and management of two team members

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant with at least 3 years' experience - Preferred ACCA, AAT (level 4), CIMA, ICAEW
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to use Microsoft Packages
