SEND Support Staff Primary Education

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

Academics are seeking a committed SEND support staff to help local primary schools across Mansfield. You will join our inclusive learning community supporting children on a 1:1 and group basis. This post is a temporary post, supporting local primary schools with their requirements throughout the Academic year, term-time only.

Posts which are often required include: Ad-hoc daily cover, short-term placement (up to 6 weeks at a time) and long-term to permanent placements.

As an SEND support staff member, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with diverse learning needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

? Working closely with teachers to implement individual education plans ? Providing one-on-one support to students with SEND ? Assisting in the development and adaptation of learning materials ? Supporting students in building social and emotional skills ? Collaborating with other professionals, including therapists and specialists ? Monitoring and recording student progress.

Qualifications and Skills: To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with students with SEND
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of students
  • Adaptability and flexibility in responding to the diverse needs of learners
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
