In the South West of England, we are an established public sector delivery partner, helping local authorities including Bristol City Council to support underrepresented communities, groups, and individuals so that they can access skills, training, and business support.

Overview of Role

As the Marketing Skills Advisor for the BrisBes programme, you'll lead digital marketing workshops and provide one-on-one guidance to businesses and individuals. Your role involves engaging with local residents and SMEs through various marketing channels. You'll deliver workshops, offer support on marketing challenges, and collaborate closely with a small team. Success in this dynamic role requires proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and a commitment to staying updated with the latest marketing trends. Working in a small team, as the Marketing Skills Advisor, you will be expected to undertake the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and speak at networking events to engage residents and businesses
  • Provide personalised support for clients' marketing strategies, including advising on website design, content creation, and social media/PR campaigns
  • Deliver workshops/training on topics like Marketing Strategies for Growth and Facebook Strategy
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local partners and stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in client evidence records and CRM system, and provide timely reporting
  • Deliver excellent client service to funders and partners, maintaining quality standards and building a strong reputation
  • Proactively seek opportunities to add value to the service, clients, funders, partners, and the Group

Please note the Marketing Skills Advisor may also be called upon to complete a range of other duties for the Group, as reasonably required. The role is a hybrid role with 2-3 office days per week.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Ideal candidate should have:

  • Graduate or similar industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years relevant marketing experience
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in digital, social media, and branding
  • Event organisation experience
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Team player with good organisational skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Zoom

Desirable:

  • Formal marketing or graphic design qualification
  • Teaching experience
  • Knowledge of public sector/funding sectors
  • Entrepreneurial experience
  • Experience with hard-to-reach communities
