  • We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our finance team. This role involves producing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheets, and board packs with detailed variance analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate financial information to budget holders and senior managers, ensuring the integrity of financial records and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheets, and board packs with variance analysis, trends, and concerns.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to budget holders and senior managers.
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations and proactively investigate reconciling items for review with the Finance Director.
  • Prepare month-end schedules and manage the posting of journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Control and maintain an accurate fixed asset register and reconcile monthly payroll journals.
  • Prepare all currency bank reconciliations and other account analyses.
  • Produce audit files, act as the key contact for auditors, and assist in the Year End audit.
  • Prepare and submit monthly statutory returns (VAT, ONS).
  • Review bank statements daily and ensure all payments and receipts are booked correctly in the accounting system.
  • Liaise with the Stock Controller to accurately reflect stock valuation on the balance sheet.
  • Maintain and improve system maintenance (general ledger codes, setup).
  • Conduct FX reviews and revaluations of balance sheets.
  • Undertake additional tasks and ad hoc reports as requested by Management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in management accounting.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in producing financial reports and conducting variance analysis.
  • Ability to reconcile balance sheets and prepare statutory returns.
  • Experience with system maintenance and improvement.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
