An established independent insurance broker who have achieved impressive growth over the last few years are now looking for a Claims Handler to join their team in Harrogate.
You will work closely with the Claims Manager and assist them as they continue to build and integrate the claims function.
- Responsibility of handling claims for clients, ensuring they are processed as speedily and efficiently as possible
- Typically dealing with Motor, Property, EL /PL, Material Damage and BI claims
- Deal with claims submitted efficiently, effectively and pro-actively
- Achieve retention by providing an excellent, professional service to the client
- Liaising with third parties, policy holders, insurers, solicitors, and loss adjusters
- Dealing with claims from cradle to grave, including negotiating all aspects of claims including credit hire from customer perspective
- Maintain effective internal communication through liaison with team members, external communication with Insurers and other contacts
- Work closely with Account Handlers & Account Executives in relation to losses associated with their clients
Skills
- Previous experience handling claims is essential, preferably with commercial losses, however strong personal motor claims knowledge will be considered
- First rate customer service skills and an ability to understand their needs
- Strong telephone and negotiating skills
