This is a fixed term contract for 7 months

This is a part-time position for 15 hours per week.

We are on a mission to be the partner of choice for developing people and their communities. Reed in Partnership is a public service provider specialising in skills training for the long-term unemployed, increasing employment opportunities by working with employers and providing youth services.

The Engagement Officers role will play a key part in raising awareness of the NHS Healthier You programme with Healthcare Professionals and the communities they serve. The roles will be critical highlighting the importance of the service, advising how to refer into the service people who are at risk of Type 2 diabetes and ensuring local area targets for referrals are met.

  • To play a key role within the Healthier You team at Reed Wellbeing and the NHS, working closely with other members of Reed Wellbeing and NHS teams to support strategic goals and ambitions.
  • To identify and understand the needs of different NHS professionals, including their current and emerging challenges and using this understanding to provide strong solutions and support.
  • To support the education and upskilling of NHS staff/social prescribers and many more, this includes presentations at senior meetings and CIPD events.
  • To act as a key lead and advocate for information (both internally and externally), handling day to day queries and supporting greater uptake across NHS professionals, local stakeholders (including those in the voluntary sector), local authorities, businesses, and cultural leaders.
  • Strengthen pathways with health and social care organisations as well as relevant teams internally. Coordinate collaborative events that will engage NHS staff, communities and people who are at risk of Type 2 diabetes.
  • To ensure that all communications both internally and externally are timely, efficient and clear.
  • Attendance at outreach events in the communities to engage residents and explain how the programme can support.
  • Attendance at local NHS Operational groups to provide updates on engagement with GP surgeries and local communities.
  • Provide a weekly summary to NHS and Line Manager with what outreach has been performed and the success of this and to work with the WW team to provide solutions where the engagement is below expectations.
  • Educates operations teams and about the volumes and types of members identified from key referral source Partners.
  • Ensures all stakeholder engagement services are delivered in accordance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) identified within SLAs.
  • Ensures Partners' requirements and expectations are met at all times via Reed in Partnership's and/or partners' network.
  • Co-ordinates partners' activities in conjunction with established SLAs.
  • Represents Reed Wellbeing at external meetings as required.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage relationships with internal and external senior audiences with fluency and confidence.
  • Ensures information on referrals are communicated promptly to the operations teams.
  • Ensures all outstanding referral opportunities are highlighted to the operations teams.
  • Provides Partner briefing sessions to Co-Members as and when required.
  • Works effectively to ensure services are delivered as agreed.

Essential Attainments:

  • Experience of working as part of a multi-function service delivery team.A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
  • GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage

  • Technical skills including good knowledge, good knowledge of local partners/stakeholders including but not limited to Community and Voluntary Sector Organisations, Local Authorities, GPs, Health Workers and other service providers, analytical ability to use intelligence to maximise on business opportunities, very strong written and verbal communication skills, negotiation skills, accomplished networking skills, organisational and time management skills, ability to build professional relationships effectively.
  • Personal interests including interest in people and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Personal circumstances including willingness to travel within contract area
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
