Job Title: Mechanical Workshop Engineer

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: £16 per hour

Contract Length: 6 months

Working Pattern: Part-Time (15 hours per week, 3 days)

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for workshop repairs? Our client, a leading organisation in the industrial sector, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Workshop Engineer to join their team on a temporary basis. If you have expertise in pump refurbishment and bearing replacement, we want to hear from you!

As a Mechanical Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for in-house workshop repairs and turning around repairs to factory assets. You will take daily and weekly orders, ensuring efficient and timely repairs to keep operations running smoothly. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your mechanical engineering skills and make a significant impact on our client's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various industrial assets, including pumps, motors, hand tools, drilling equipment, and general fabrication
  • Execute pump refurbishment projects, replacing bearings as needed
  • Utilise your expertise in laith, milling, and welding techniques for efficient repairs
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and ensure proper documentation

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, specifically in pump refurbishment and bearing replacement
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and techniques
  • Proficiency in working with pumps, motors, hand tools, drilling equipment, and general fabrication
  • Experience with laith, milling, and welding techniques is desirable
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage your workload

Working Hours:

  • 3 days per week (flexible Monday to Friday)
  • 8am to 4pm
