Warehouse Section Manager - Nights - Burnley - £35,000-40,000
My client, a prestigious food business based in Burnley, is looking for a Section Manager in their Warehouse. You will be overseeing the picking and packing of the ambient side of the business, ensuring the smooth running of the operation through reducing picking errors, including all aspects of leading a team. They work with very high end clients so top quality products, packing and service is absolutely essential, making this a really key role within the business.
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience
Working Hours: Nights Sunday - Thursday, 7pm Starts
Responsibilities
- Work with quality team to ensure all products are up to spec before dispatching and escalating any issues
- Management of loading team
- Daily review of pick and loading errors with Section Leaders and the Loading Manager to try and improvement process
- Taking ownership of deadlines and ensuring they are hit
- Track and review team productivity
- Develop your team through skills training and coaching to ensure clear accountability and understanding to deliver the required standards of H&S, Food safety and product quality and flow. Support the Section Leaders in upskilling their team to try and promote the next generation of Warehouse Leaders.
- Conduct a daily team briefs
- Ensure appraisals and development plans are in place and identify succession planning opportunities.
What they're looking for
- IOSH certified (preferred but not essential)
- NEBOSH Qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Food background (preferred but not essential)
- Experience of working in a similar warehouse management role
- Effective management skills
- Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), trends and action planning
