Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school committed to academic excellence. The successful candidate will be key in inspiring students to develop a strong understanding and appreciation of mathematics. You will guide students through the complexities of mathematical concepts, problem-solving, and analytical thinking, ensuring lessons are both challenging and accessible. Your teaching will foster confidence, logical reasoning, and a passion for mathematics, preparing students for success in their exams and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive maths lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, tailored to the needs of students with varying abilities.
  • Teach a range of mathematical topics, from algebra and geometry to statistics and calculus, ensuring students gain a deep understanding of key concepts.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback, while maintaining strong communication with parents and guardians.
  • Lead and support extracurricular activities such as maths clubs, competitions, or tutoring sessions to deepen students' engagement with the subject.
  • Stay current with the latest educational trends and best practices in mathematics teaching through continuous professional development.
  • Maintain effective classroom management strategies, upholding school behaviour policies to create a focused and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to offer cross-curricular learning opportunities that enhance students' understanding and application of mathematics.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialisation in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and relevant exam specifications (GCSE, A-Level).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make mathematics engaging and accessible to all students.
  • A commitment to fostering a love for maths, promoting inclusivity, and supporting the diverse needs of all learners.
