Job Description:

As our Activity Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life of our residents. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a diverse range of activities that cater to the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents. Your creativity and energy will help ensure that every day is filled with joy, purpose, and meaningful engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a varied program of activities that caters to the interests and abilities of all residents.
  • Organize events, outings, and in-house activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, and exercise classes.
  • Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to suit individual needs, including those with dementia.
  • Work closely with care staff to understand residents' preferences and care plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction and reduces feelings of isolation.
  • Maintain records of activities, attendance, and feedback to continuously improve the activity program.
  • Liaise with local community groups and volunteers to enhance the range of activities offered.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience as an Activity Coordinator in a care setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with elderly people and enhancing their lives.
  • Creative, energetic, and able to think on your feet.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of dementia care is an advantage.
  • First aid training is desirable but not essential.
