Senior Property/Asset Manager

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Senior Property/Asset Manager for our client a local government organisation based in Bristol.

The successful candidate will be one of 5 Property Partners whose purpose is to form a strategic link between Property and Lead Officers representing Services using the organisation's assets for service delivery.

This is a 3 month starting contract with the possibility to extend. Hybrid working available.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with services, at all levels, in order to pro - actively support and challenge optimum use of property resources in planning and implementing service delivery.
  • Work with services to understand how service strategy, changes in legislation and changes in demand will affect property requirements and to express this in service asset management plans.
  • Provide professional advice on all aspects of property use and occupation.
  • Implement operational land and property related transactions in order to optimise service delivery, capital receipts, revenue returns and to minimise the overall cost to the organisation of the operational property portfolio including the negotiation of legal agreements.
  • Lead on service specific property reviews and to represent services on cross cutting or geographical reviews.
  • Represent the property service and, where appropriate, the organisation at meetings (internal and external) and at court or tribunals where necessary.

Personal Requirements:

  • A property related qualification and experience of providing pro - active property management in a large organisation.
  • The ability to think about issues strategically, plan solutions and convert that thinking and planning into effective action.
  • Previous experience in representing an employer in a legal and/or public setting.
  • The ability to understand the wider needs of the business and the operation of the regional economy and property market including an appreciation of the opportunities which can be derived from developing and maintaining relationships with other public sector property occupiers.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications or equivalent including the following: email (outlook or equivalent), word processing (word or equivalent), spreadsheets (excel or equivalent) using the internet (internet explorer or equivalent) Have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate and have an understanding of property data and geographical systems.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the management of public sector property (Desirable).

Working Hours: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday - Friday

Pay: £31.32 p/h
