Role Overview: The Personal Tax Manager will be responsible for managing personal tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role involves providing strategic tax planning advice, managing a team of tax professionals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal tax, excellent leadership skills, and a client-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the personal tax compliance process for a wide range of clients.
  • Provide expert advice on personal tax matters, including income tax, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and trusts.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies that optimize clients' tax positions.
  • Ensure compliance with UK tax laws and regulations, and manage relationships with HMRC.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation.
  • Prepare and review complex tax returns and computations.
  • Mentor and develop junior tax staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to deliver integrated services to clients.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks for clients and the firm.

Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a personal tax role, preferably in a professional services firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK personal tax legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in tax planning and advisory work.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
