Accounts Payable Team Leader | Central Milton Keynes | 4-6 Months Temporary | Up To £19ph
Macildowie is delighted to partner with a prominent and respected business in Central Milton Keynes, currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Temporary Accounts Payable Team Leader to join their dynamic finance team.
About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity to play a crucial leadership role in our Accounts Payable operation, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. As the Temporary Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a small team of Accounts Payable Clerks, ensuring the day-to-day efficiency of the department. You will be a key supportive member of team during a change in the finance structure. This role involves maintaining a high level of accuracy in the work delivered, supporting key business projects, whilst ensuring payment runs are processed correctly with roughly 1,200 invoices being processed every month.

- 4-6 Months Temporary assignment with a possible extension
- Up to £19 per hour
- Hybrid working available - Ideally working a minimum of two days a week in the office
- Flexibility with working hours - Minimum 35 hours a week
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the Purchase Ledger: Take ownership of the entire purchase ledger process, from receiving invoices to the final payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance, matching invoices to the correct PO numbers and leasing with other departments when required.
- Cash Flow Management: Actively contribute to the effective management of cash flow, optimising payment terms and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
- Dispute Resolution: Proactively address and resolve disputes with suppliers, demonstrating strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Invoice Query Resolution: Take the lead in resolving complex invoice queries, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborative Work: Collaborate proactively within the team to ensure the smooth processing of the purchase ledger, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Proven leadership and team management experience within accounts, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards shared goals.
- Proactive and highly organised with strong time management and planning skills.
- Proficient in using computer applications and software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties.
- Observant and resourceful with a methodical approach.
- Ability to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
- Self-motivated, driven, and able to meet challenges.
- Prior experience in a similar leadership role utilising similar skills.
