About the Role - IT Supervisor

The IT Supervisor oversees the daily operations and performance of the IT Desk Team, while focusing on delivering exceptional IT support.

The successul IT Supervisor will provide technical leadership, resolving complex IT issues and act as an escalation point for the team. They will also assist the IT Operations & Security Manager with broader IT projects and initiatives, including hardware/software upgrades, driving continuous process improvements, and promoting Information Security awareness throughout the firm.

Primary responsibilities

  • Leading a small but growing IT Desk Team based in the UK
  • Deputising for the IT Operations and Security Manager in their absence
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance on complex IT issues, acting as a point of escalation for the IT Desk
  • Track, analyse, and report on IT Desk request patterns and trends
  • Manage and maintain meeting room AV equipment, providing technical support to facilitate the smooth running of legal meetings and oral proceedings
  • Collaborate with the development and infrastructure teams to drive continuous improvement in service delivery and process efficiency
  • Monitor network and system availability, as well as hardware and software configuration, setup, and upgrades
  • A flexible, "can do" approach is essential; the candidate will occasionally be expected to work outside of normal office hours
  • Occasional travel to our regional offices may be required
  • Promoting and maintaining excellent internal customer relations by dealing effectively and efficiently with matters that fall within your responsibility
  • Exhibiting excellent communication and listening skills and demonstrate empathy in dealings with staff
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times and exercise discretion and good judgment when dealing with confidential matters

Skills:

You will be comfortable working in a modern, fast-paced environment where you are given a level of autonomy to do your work.

Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience as a team leader or supervisor, formally or informally.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft 365 administration, Windows Server, Entra ID, Endpoint Manager
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure with excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Passionate about new technology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills including planning, prioritising, timekeeping and meeting deadlines
  • An understanding of the demands of a deadline-driven, top-tier legal business and how a similarly high-achieving IT team must function to support it
  • Relevant Degree and/or certifications

The following skills would also be beneficial:

  • Experience with ISO 27001/SOC 2
  • Microsoft Copilot

Experience in Information Security (ISMS)

  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI/Power Automate)
  • Knowledge of NetDocuments DMS
  • Certifications such as CompTIA or ITIL
