Finance Business Partner Assistant

The Finance Business Partner Assistant role is a key member of the Finance team, supporting the Finance Business Partner (FBP) roles, the site operation teams and the teams at the Shared Service Centres (SSC) most notably in the area of Record to Report. It is also a critical support to the operational teams and their activities and provides the link to support the continuous improvement in time reporting for key statistics, alongside the relevant FBP role.

Your remit will include but not be limited to:

  • Supporting preparation of monthly accounts by completing the required data submission to the R2R team.
  • Ensuring that documentation and information is appropriate for purpose and submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Working alongside the FBP to develop strong working relationships between your team and the SSC.
  • Contributing to the analysis of monthly management account data alongside key operational statistics to assist the management team in understanding the key business drivers.
  • Supporting any local requirements in terms of internal and external audits.
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly forecasts, the annual budget, and corporate plan.
  • Developing a detailed understanding of the business cost base, with reference to overheads and consumables.

About you

  • Part-qualified Accountant, ideally studying towards a relevant qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, etc)
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing indisutry, specifically Paper would be advantageous
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Finance team
  • Understanding of ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Ability to effectively prioritise various tasks and objectives

Location: DS Smith Kemsley Paper Mill, Sittingbourne. We operate on a hybrid basis, with 3-4 days a week in the office and 1-2 at home.
