About my client: My client is a well-established, two-partner firm with around 12 employees, located in a charming area of Paddington, London. The firm, led by 2 impressive Partners, is a modern, client-focused practice that provides business advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses across a wide range of industries, including high-class restaurants, financial services, and companies involved in offshore activities. The firm's services include advising on business start-ups, acquisitions, mergers, disposals, and tax planning.

Position: Audit and Accounts Senior

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with a diverse portfolio of clients including individuals, trusts, partnerships, charities, limited liability partnerships, and companies (under FRS102 and IFRS).
  • Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and the HAT methodology.
  • Preparing statutory accounts, management accounts, and conducting financial analysis for clients across various industries.
  • Providing business advisory services, including tax planning and support for business start-ups, acquisitions, and mergers.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior staff, sharing knowledge and expertise in audit and accounting standards.
  • Utilizing the full suite of Iris Software, integrated with MyWorkPapers and HAT, to streamline audit and accounting processes.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development, taking advantage of the firm's commitment to training and support in all areas of accountancy and tax.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • ACA qualified or ACCA candidate (support provided for those self-studying ACCA via HAT).
  • Proven experience in audit and accounts preparation within a practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS102) and IFRS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Proficient in using Iris Software and MyWorkPapers (experience with HAT methodology is an advantage).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a relaxed, open-door environment.
