We are seeking a Communications Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive public relations and communication engagement strategy. The ideal candidate will have a flair for writing and a passion for storytelling, capable of crafting compelling press releases, blogs, and social media content. This role is perfect for someone who is a natural relationship builder and is adept at creating engaging multimedia content.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and implement a public relations and communication engagement strategy.
  • Write and distribute press releases, manage blog content, and maintain an active and engaging presence on social media platforms.
  • Oversee the production of high-quality photography and video content for various channels.
  • Provide creative and informative content for internal communication channels, including corporate newsletters, intranet, and internal forums.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, bloggers, and influencers within the transport sector.
  • Coordinate public relations efforts with communication officers across the UK and international operating companies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in communications, either in-house or within a PR agency, including significant experience in media relations at a national level.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and with passion to stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written communication skills, with a talent for writing, editing, and proofreading, as well as sourcing news stories.
  • A collaborative team player who can influence and work effectively across the business.
  • High personal motivation, enthusiasm, and the initiative to work independently.
  • Exceptional organisational and strong planning skills.
  • Flexible, pragmatic, and a hands-on approach to tasks.
  • Creative thinking with the ability to produce content using various channels, including video, animations, and podcasts.
  • A challenger of the status quo, with the ability to influence others to adopt new perspectives.
  • Knowledge of the public transport industry is desirable.
  • CIPR qualification is a plus.
