HR Assistant

Our Client: A leading institution within the education sector is seeking an experienced HR Assistant to join their dedicated HR team within a beautiful setting. The position is office based on site Monday to Friday. This is your chance to be part of a prestigious organisation that values excellence, innovation, and growth.

Key Responsibilities for the position In Collaboration with the HR Team:
Liaise with and advise all candidates, agencies, and internal stakeholders on the safer recruitment process.
Process applications, liaise with applicants, and coordinate documents for the shortlisting panel.
Assist with the issuance of safer recruitment documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
Proactively respond to day-to-day HR issues and queries.
Obtain written reference requests and follow through on verbal telephone verifications.
Review and advise on all safer recruitment forms completed by prospective employees, including UK and overseas Summer Programme staff, to ensure compliance.
Ensure that HR data management is GDPR compliant and assist with responses to data subject access requests.

Recruitment, Selection, On-Boarding, and Retention:
Support a wide range of generalist activities, working closely with the HR team.
Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities.
Support Line Managers with interview setup, creation of interview questions, and skills exercises/observed lessons.
Assist with international recruitment fair administration.
Liaise with prospective new employees to ensure all safer recruitment checks, including right to work, overseas police checks, enhanced DBS checks, references, and teaching/qualification checks, are obtained before passing the file to the HR Director for sign-off.
Securely maintain all HR records (HRIS and physical files).
Assist with an induction schedule for new hires.
Ensure essential online safeguarding training is coordinated and formally logged on our HRIS, keeping records up-to-date and inspection-ready.
Assist with the maintenance of training records.

Miscellaneous:
Assist with ad hoc HR team correspondence and projects.
Stay updated with changes in right-to-work and visa legal guidelines, and help prepare information for work permit applications as required.
Assist the HR Director with the preparation of paperwork for staff, such as general letters, offer letters, contracts, job descriptions, person specifications, and variations of contract.
Create, maintain, and archive personnel files, ensuring GDPR compliance throughout.

Requirements:

Must have experience of working in the Education sector

Proven experience working within an HR role.
CIPD Level 3 qualification.
GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above.
