Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for a varied and value-driven role? We are partnering with a leading group of companies based in Southampton to find a dedicated professional to join their finance team. In this role, you'll never experience the same day twice, as it offers a wide variety of tasks and projects. You will play a crucial part in process improvements, mentorship, and delivering insightful management reporting, all while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role is offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:
- Facilitating process improvements – identifying and analysing areas of weakness and proposing and implementing improvements
- Mentorship and team development – providing guidance, training and professional development support for junior team members
- Management reporting and analysis – preparing and delivering timely and insightful management reports and commentary to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- VAT compliance management - overseeing the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accuracy in reporting
- Management accounts preparation – managing the creation of management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis and depreciation calculations
- Month-end activities – assisting with month-end closing activities such as journaling, prepayments, accruals, intercompany charge allocations and reconciliations
What you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as Senior Accountant / Management Accountant / Financial Accountant / Finance Manager / Financial Controller
- Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or QBE
- To be a keen problem solver
- A background in accountancy practice is desirable but not essential
- Use of Xero and advanced Excel functions such as VlookUps and Pivot Tables.
