Senior Electronics Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer to join them. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in circuit design and a keen interest in leveraging current technology to enhance product designs. You will also have experience of developing firmware for new products.
Day to Day of the role:
Hardware
- Design and improve circuits for downhole use, pushing the boundaries of designs to higher temperatures (185°+).
- Develop and maintain production equipment, as well as various stages of assemblies.
- Conduct system evaluations, making appropriate recommendations to modify designs or repair equipment as needed.
- Define and execute testing and maintenance procedures for electronics and components.
Firmware
- Work on new projects, develop firmware to meet company's stated objectives with the project.
- Work on existing projects, maintaining code and/or improving code functionality.
- Participate in firmware review meetings and identify areas of improvement in product functionality.
- Basic system testing of firmware code once compiled, pass to test engineers.
- Respond positively to feedback from firmware testing and operations to further improve functionality
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of PCB design software.
- Experience with electronics in harsh environments is preferable.
- B.S. or advanced degree in Engineering/Scientific discipline.
- Proficient in IPC standards and board manufacturing processes.
- Strong familiarity with C and or other Languages would be an advantage.
- Familiar with the IAR tool chain compiler.
- Ability to create windows utility to interact with hardware.
- Familiar with ADC and sensor acquisition.
- Experience with ST processor a huge advantage
- In depth experience of software and firmware development methodologies to ensure firmware quality and
time-to-market (design verification, code reviews, prototyping and product testing).
