DC Personnel are representing a successful manufacturing business in Leicester who are excited to grow their Health & Safety department adding a new team member to support their business.
The business employs over 150 staff across both its branch locations in Leicester. This is a key role for someone who can balance operational safety with strategic planning, ensuring a culture of safety and compliance at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for accident investigations and take precaution to prevent reoccurrence.
- Manage and coordinate Employee wellbeing, working alongside the HR Team.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits and site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors on all health and safety matters.
- Lead safety training programs and workshops for employees at all levels.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management to promote a strong health and safety culture throughout the organization.
What We're Looking For:
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification is essential
- A degree or diploma in Health and Safety, Occupational Health or a related field is desirable
- Experience of working in H&S within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Leadership ability, attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and solving safety challenges.
- A confident and friendly manner with the ability to liaise with people at all levels
- Personable and empathetic nature.
- Ability to handle and safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
- Working knowledge of MS Office packages
