Our client is a leading charity dedicated to supporting individuals with substance misuse issues. They provide compassionate care and evidence-based interventions to help people make positive changes in their lives. As an agency Substance Misuse Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals struggling with substance misuse. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive assessments, interventions, and follow-up care to the service users.
Contract Type: Temporary 3 months (there is a scope for the contract to be extended), Start Date: Ideally within the next couple of weeksWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pmOffice-based
Key Role Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of service users' health and substance misuse needs.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans.
- Administer medications and manage detoxification processes safely and effectively.
- Provide harm reduction advice and support, including needle exchange services.
- Offer psychosocial interventions and supportive counselling.
- Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBV), including administering Hepatitis A and B vaccinations when indicated.
- Engage in integrated care and treatment pathways for individuals infected with BBVs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
What you need to have:Registered Mental Health Nurse or General Nurse with a valid NMC pin.Previous experience in a similar role in a Drug Treatment service, forensic, prison or other similar background is a must.
