This role has a starting salary of £35,730 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.

We are excited to be hiring a Resource Officer to join our fantastic Allocations team. We are a supportive team which sits within the Gateway to Resources Service. The Allocations team find placements for children and young people. We undertake fostering, residential, and supported accommodation searches across both our in-house provisions and external providers. The team is made up of a Service Manager, one Senior Commissioning Resource Officer and ten Resource Officers.

About the Team
We are a supportive team which sits within our Gateway to Resources Service in the Childrens, Families and Lifelong Learning Directorate. We work in partnership with other professionals and agencies to ensure that children and young people are identified suitably matched placements that will achieve positive outcomes.

About the Role
You will have responsibility for a caseload of children and young people for whom you will actively placement find. This will be for children, young people and care leavers who require planned and emergency placements in fostering, residential care or supported accommodation.

To be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence that:

  • You have the ability to negotiate appropriate levels of service provision to make sure that best value for money is secured.
  • You can develop and maintain a good working knowledge of providers and be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external professionals.
  • You have effective organisational skills and be effective in managing your time being able to work under pressure whilst simultaneously working to tight deadlines.
  • You are an excellent communicator and have good negotiation skills.

Please note, the contractual location for this role is currently Quadrant Court, however it is our intention to move within the local area to Victoria Gate in Central Woking later this year.
