A Day in the Life of Our Service Manager

As our Service Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that every day brings positive experiences for our service users and staff alike. Your day might start with a team briefing, where you'll inspire and guide your care staff, setting the tone for exceptional service delivery. You'll then dive into overseeing our operations, to ensure that the care we provide not only meets but exceeds the Care Inspectorate standards.

Throughout the day, you'll wear multiple hats. You might find yourself:

  • Mentoring a new team member, helping them understand our person-centred approach to care
  • Reviewing budgets and resource allocation to keep our service running smoothly and efficiently
  • Conducting a quality audit to identify areas for improvement in our care delivery
  • Meeting with a service user's family to discuss their loved one's care plan
  • Liaising with local healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care for our users
  • Addressing a concern raised by a staff member, using your problem-solving skills to find a solution

You'll be the go-to person for maintaining our high standards, whether that's through implementing new quality assurance measures or conducting risk assessments to ensure everyone's safety. Your role will also involve building and nurturing relationships. You might spend time talking with service users, understanding their needs and ensuring they're happy with their care. You could be meeting with local authorities or healthcare professionals, representing Moonrise and advocating for our service users.

In this role, no two days will be the same, but each will offer the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives while leading a dedicated team and growing a vital service.
