Deputy Head of Education

Posted by Empowering Learning.

Empowering Learning are supporting a residential special school and provision that are seeking to appoint a new Deputy Head of Education on a permanent basis, based in Norfolk. The provision provides education for children and young people experiencing social, emotional and mental health complexities, providing highly individualised, trauma informed education and care packages for up to ten students aged between 8 to 18 years of age.

You will be based in purpose-built facilities, that are currently judged "Good" by Ofsted. All staff within the provision / school believe that learning is not driven exclusively by the teaching staff, but is interwoven through their holistic philosophy, which consists of a 24-hour learning ethos that requires input from the whole team, both teaching and care staff, under the leadership of the Principal.

As Deputy Head of Education, you will be supporting the Head of Education in their leadership and management of the Learning Centre adults, as part of the larger holistic multi-professional team, and in providing a personalised learning curriculum. You will have management and leadership experience in a similar SEN setting, or from an SEN school setting. An SEN specialism would be useful as would a knowledge of social, emotional and mental health issues, but this should not pre-determine whether you enquire or apply.

Application deadline: Tuesday 25th June 2024

Salary offered: £50,807 - £56,082 (Dependent on experience)
