Administration Support Officer

Babergh District Council an Administrative Officer (Administration and Technical Support) to join our team in Tenant Services based in Suffolk. You will join us on a full time (37 hours per week) permanent basis. You will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £25,545 - £28,770 per annum (pro rata for part time).

Full time, part time and job share opportunities will be considered.

Responsibilities as our Administration Support Officer:

You will provide a range of administrative and technical support to our busy Tenancy Management Team, including:

  • Dealing directly with residents in relation to issues, concerns and/or questions.
  • Maximising performance to deliver excellent customer satisfaction and value for money services.
  • Entering relevant information onto the bespoke housing software system, ensuring accuracy and consistency of information.
  • Co-ordination and ownership of both the new tenant sign up process and the mutual exchange process.

The role is not limited to these responsibilities and you may be asked to assist in other tasks as and when they arise.

What we're looking for in our Administration Support Officer:

We are looking for a competent administrator, able to manage a varied and busy workload. You should possess a relevant qualification at NVQ2/GCSE A-C, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • An ability to analyse and problem solve in a variety of situations.
  • Experience of communicating (written and verbal) with a range of people, where tact and diplomacy are important.
  • General keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently within set procedures, able to organise own workload and respond efficiently to unexpected issues when they arise.
  • A flexible and proactive approach, providing admin support to project teams from across our services.
  • Demonstrable Administration and Microsoft experience.
  • Experience of working in housing management or similar (desirable).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the functions of a social landlord together with basic housing knowledge (desirable).
