Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across the primary curriculum. Your teaching will inspire curiosity, foster a love of learning, and support the academic and personal development of each student.
  • Curriculum Planning: Design and implement a well-structured curriculum that meets national standards and caters to the diverse needs of your students. You'll ensure that your lessons are inclusive, challenging, and aligned with the school's educational goals.
  • Student Assessment: Regularly assess student progress through formative assessments, providing constructive feedback that helps students improve and succeed. Use assessment data to inform your teaching strategies and address any learning gaps.
  • Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment. Implement effective behaviour management strategies that encourage respect, responsibility, and a love of learning among students.
  • Parental Engagement: Establish strong, positive relationships with parents and caregivers. Communicate regularly about students' progress, celebrating successes and addressing any concerns in a collaborative manner.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues to share best practices, plan cross-curricular activities, and contribute to the school's community spirit. Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
  • Continual Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in primary education. Attend professional development courses and engage in reflective practice to continually enhance your teaching skills.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Qualifications: You must hold either Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching at the primary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Classroom Management: Ability to manage a classroom effectively, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
