Graduate Quantity Surveyor Glasgow Competitive Salary + Benefits

Join our key service sector client based in the outskirts of Glasgow, in a commercially focussed role. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has recently graduated with a degree in Quantity Surveying. You will be supporting regulated and private sector businesses, providing support to the development, implementation and management of all commercial activities and controls. It will also involve reporting on contract performance to budget and forecasts, audit adherence to the procurement and pricing strategy, and commercial support to general managers.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining performance reports and business partnering with operational colleagues.
  • Supporting the business unit in the generation of tenders for all opportunities.
  • Building up strong knowledge of customer contracts, whilst maintaining the commercial contract log.
  • Providing advice on commercial issues to general/framework managers.
  • Reporting of work in progress, billing and support of payment collection.
  • Utilising methods to support all pricing and tendering activities.
  • Preparing any subcontract tender requirements for management reviews
  • Using the Management Information System (MIS) to track work progress and report on any KPIs.
  • Maintaining visibility of expenditure to ensure works are completed to budget.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Management Team and attending management reviews as required.
  • Continuously improving the reporting available to management.

This opportunity is suitable for someone who has recently graduated with a degree in Quantity Surveying and would like to step into a commercially focussed role.

Whilst this role focuses on commercial administrative tasks, the candidate must have strong financial acumen given that it sits within the commercial team. Likewise, strong people and communication skills are essential for this position as you will work closely with various stakeholders across the business such as operations and the sales team, where you may need to challenge or negotiate. It is essential that applicants hold a valid UK driving licence.
