General Cover Teacher - Gosport - September start!
Academics are seeking a General Cover teacher who is available from September to join a successful Alternative Provision in Gosport, Hampshire which caters for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a full-time, on-going supply contract.
They are looking for a knowledgeable and engaging General Cover Teacher who is happy to deliver various subjects across KS3 and KS4. This role would ideally be suited to a secondary trained teacher although happy to consider primary trained teachers who are happy to work in a secondary/SEMH setting.
Due to the needs of the pupils, class sizes are much smaller than a mainstream school with 5-9 pupils and the support of an LSA to a class.
All pupils display varying levels of challenging behaviour so strong behaviour management is a must, but with an empathetic approach. Experience of working in an alternative provision is preferred, although not essential. The key to succeeding in this environment is building strong, honest relationships with the pupils and having the ability to deliver exciting and engaging lessons.
This General Cover Teacher position is available to both fully qualified and early careers teachers.
