A special school in Pontefract is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school caters for children and young people aged from 6 to 18 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs and Communication Impairments.
They are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them on a full-time, long-term contract (Monday to Friday) to start in September.
As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- To assist the support staff in providing the best care for the students and ensure their care plans are followed accurately.
- To build strong rapport with the pupils and support with behaviour management if required.
- To support the students academically with their learning to help them take leaps and strides forward with their education.
- To work alongside the class Teacher with the day-to-day routine of the class.
To work as a Teaching Assistant at this school, you should have experience supporting young people with special educational needs and preferably in a classroom setting to demonstrate your ability to provide the best support to the pupils.
