Housing Review Officer
Salary - £24.24 per hour PAYE // £30.00 per hour Ltd Umbrella
Location - Remote
Full time role starting ASAP
We are seeking a Housing Review Officer to join a dynamic Housing Advisory Service team.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct statutory reviews of homeless decisions, offers of accommodation, and housing register assessments within statutory time limits.
- Liaise with the Legal Department and Head of Service to defend against legal challenges, including judicial review proceedings and County Court appeals.
- Develop procedures and guidelines for officers in collaboration with the Service Development Manager.
- Create and deliver training programs for staff on changes in legislation, case law, and regulations.
- Ensure complaints, MP, Member & solicitor enquiries are logged and responded to within target timeframes.
- Carry out approximately 150 statutory housing reviews per annum.
- Monitor and prepare reports on performance in respect of decision reviews and court cases.
- Develop and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive service improvement.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in researching, interpreting, and explaining complex legislation and policy.
- Experience of managing staff.
- Highly detailed knowledge of current and emerging housing legislation and case law related to housing advice issues.
