This is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to start their career in events. A historic house in London is looking for an Events Assistant to join them on a temp to perm basis, working closely with and supporting the Events Director.
There is amazing potential, with a wide variety in the role, as well as working on projects including relaunching their social media pages.
What you'll do:
- Manage the events enquiries inbox
- Help to manage the events
- Prepare spaces for events
- Support the team in preparing events, from planning, preparing equipment, ordering equipment, staff planning and booking and event briefind documents
- Support with the marketing of events, including updating the wesbite and social media pages
- Uploading customer and supplier information online, updating expenses systems, etc
- Work with the Events Director on projects including a new booking system and social committee activities
Skills/ Attributes Required
- Ideally, some previous work experience in hospitality
- Strong IT and document management skills in all Microsoft packages, particularly Microsoft Word and Adobe
- Comfortable with creating and organising online files e.g. digital photos, customer and supplier information, online calendars, expense systems etc.
- Demonstrates a genuine interest and passion for delivering first class customer service
- Time management skills, an understanding of how to prioritise
- A can-do attitude with a pro-active and positive approach to work, including flexibility and adaptability to a variety of tasks
- Ability and desire to gain a general understanding of how the business operates, in order to provide the best level of support
- Educated to degree level preferable but not essential
- Organised, able to multitask under pressure and show initiative with an eye for detail
- Smart, presentable and courteous with a welcoming personality
