Events & Communications Lead

Posted by Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited.

Your new company
Work for one of the regions' leading no-for-profit organisations on a mission to support and improve the lives of the people they serve, with a focus on mental and physical health.
Your new role
Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to drive engaging internal communications, events, and initiatives. Lead the launch of a new intranet system, motivate staff, and align strategic messaging.

  • Craft an Inspiring Communications Plan:
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to design a robust internal communications strategy. This plan should ignite enthusiasm amongst staff, executives, and trustees.
  • Think beyond emails and memos - consider interactive workshops, town halls, and creative campaigns.
  • Revamp the Newsletter Experience:
  • The newsletter isn't just a bulletin; it's a vibrant hub for information. Revitalise it with eye-catching visuals, personalised content, and exclusive perks.
  • Use it as a launchpad for other internal communications initiatives.
  • Alignment with the EVP:
  • Work closely with Executives and Senior Leadership to ensure consistent messaging across the organisation.
  • Imagine their vision flowing seamlessly through every communication channel.
  • Innovate Staff Retention Strategies:
  • Retaining talent is an art. Explore unconventional ways to keep staff engaged - perhaps gamified challenges, mentorship programs, or wellness incentives.
  • Encourage staff to refer friends by making it rewarding and fun.
  • Spotlight 'A Great Place to Work':
  • Gather heart-warming stories - employee testimonials, moments of triumph, and acts of kindness.
  • Leverage platforms like Glassdoor and Indeed to showcase our positive workplace culture.
  • Intranet Launch and Radio Waves:

The new intranet is more than a portal - it's a community square. Populate it with engaging content, interactive forums, and employee spotlights.

  • Messages with Impact:
  • Translate corporate jargon into relatable messages. Use storytelling, humour, and visuals to convey organisational values.
  • Make every communication count - whether it's a policy update or a shout-out to an outstanding team.
  • Daily Hustle:
  • Be the conductor of the internal communications orchestra. Coordinate emails, videos, webinars, and town halls.
  • Evaluate what's working and adjust the notes accordingly.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Break down silos. Engage stakeholders from HR, Operations, and Finance. Their insights enrich the symphony of communication.
  • Imagine the CFO sharing financial updates in a catchy rap (okay, maybe not a rap).
  • Event Maestro:
  • Events aren't just dates on a calendar - they're crescendos. Plan celebrations, recognition ceremonies, and team-building extravaganzas.
  • Picture confetti cannons and standing ovations.
  • Marketing Team Jedi Training:
  • Equip the marketing team with lightsabers - okay, maybe not lightsabers, but definitely with knowledge. Arrange workshops, webinars, and skill-building sessions.
  • May the marketing force be with them!
  • Digital Adventures:
  • Partner with the Digital Marketing Officer. Dive into video content - interviews, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and virtual tours.
  • Webinars? More like webi-fun!
  • Virtual Coffee Chats:
  • Organise monthly catch-ups. Imagine sipping digital lattes while discussing wins, challenges, and cat memes.
  • Because even virtual coffee has caffeine vibes.
