Job Title: Manufacturing Shift Leader

Salary: £32-£36K including shift allowance, plus bonuses

Hours: Full time (2 shift pattern Monday to Friday)
My client is looking to recruit a Shift Leader to join their manufacturing company based in Devizes. The company manufacture precision parts, primarily serving the automotive, aerospace and power generation industries supplying a worldwide customer base.
The company has three sites within the Southwest of England, one in Bath and two in Devizes and this position will be located within the Automotive division based in Devizes.
Within the role of Shift Leader, you will support and supervise a team running, setting and maintaining bespoke machinery used in the manufacturing of our clients products. Other duties will involve supporting the monitoring of production output, schedule management, product quality assurance and ensuring that all operators are fully employed, working efficiently and safely.
This is a hands-on position, where you will be expected to lead the shift by example, and the position will involve working a 39 hour working week, on days for training and then on a rotating day shift pattern which is:
Week 1: 0600-1400 Monday to Thursday, 0600-100 on Friday
Week 2: 1400-2200 Monday to Thursday, 1300-2000 on Friday
Required experience for the role:
- Supervisory experience in a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Engineering bias including direct hands-on experience in machine setting, operation and maintenance.
- Competent in the use of measuring equipment within a precision engineering environment.
- Evidence of high productivity whilst maintaining high quality standards.
- PC knowledge including use of Outlook, Excel and Word.
