JOB TITLE: Linux Site Reliability Engineer

LOCATION: Gloucestershire

SALARY: £40,000 - £60,000

WAY OF WORKING: Full Time | Hybrid/ Office-based | Permanent

THE BUSINESS:

Users worldwide ranging from universities to industry leaders in motorsport, agriculture, oil and gas, emergency services, and defence our clients' customers can be found wherever there's radio coverage, whether on land, in the air, or even at sea!

Linux Site Reliability Engineer:

  • First 3 months being 5 days a week onsite and then moving Hybrid
  • Monitor system availability and performance
  • Strengthen system security against potential threats
  • Perform system maintenance and apply patches
  • Assist in designing, deploying, and setting up new infrastructure

YOUR KEY SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in Linux administration, preferably with Debian/Ubuntu
  • Background in networking, including VPNs, gateways, and bridging
  • Strong understanding of OS and network security
  • UK or EU nationality required, along with a valid driver's license

DESIRABLE:

  • Scripting experience - Either Bash, Python or equivalent
  • Experience of GIS tools, standards and processing raster data
  • Docker container management
  • Virtualisation experience, preferably KVM / Proxmox
