Tutor needed in Fareham - Prospero Teaching

Are you a passionate tutor with a flair for engaging and exploratory teaching? We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to introduce a Year 10 student to Spanish, Science, and Business Studies in a flexible and supportive alternative provision setting in Fareham.

**The Role:

  • Subjects: Introductory lessons in Spanish, Science, and Business Studies

  • Focus: Engaging sessions to spark the student's curiosity and interest, rather than in-depth academic instruction

  • Schedule:

  • Monday: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM (2 hours)

  • Tuesday: 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM (2.5 hours)

  • Wednesday: 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM (2.5 hours)

  • Friday: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM (2 hours)

  • Total Hours: 9 hours per week, spread across four days

  • Start Date: Immediate, with sessions continuing until 20th December 2024 (subject to review)

  • Baseline Assessment: Conduct a brief initial assessment to gauge the student's engagement level and tailor the approach accordingly.

**What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support is essential.
  • Skills: Ability to create a positive, adaptive, and engaging learning environment that accommodates the unique needs of the student.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable with adapting lessons based on student interest and response.
  • Patience & Empathy: A supportive approach to working with students who require additional emotional and educational support.
  • Desirable: While specific expertise in Spanish, Science, and Business Studies is not required, enthusiasm for these subjects and the ability to make learning enjoyable is a must.

Requirements:

  • Professional Qualifications for the Education Industry
  • Minimum of 1 years teaching experience
  • Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other additional needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding processes
  • Enhanced DBS (we can assist with obtaining this)
  • Right to work in the UK
