Job Title: Production Supervisor

Location: Dagenham

Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 pa, plus shift allowance

Contract: Permanent

Our client is a leading player in the automotive industry, committed to excellence in production and innovation. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Supervisor to join their team and drive their manufacturing processes to new heights.

Key Responsibilities of a Production Supervisor include:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of 30 operatives, ensuring production targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and managing accident investigations.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high quality standards and promote continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Production Management: Oversee the production plan, collaborate with internal teams, and monitor key performance metrics to ensure timely and high-quality output.
  • System Management: Champion the use of the ERP system (Epicor) for accurate data entry and payroll approval, while driving productivity improvements.
  • Cost Efficiency: Identify and address performance-related issues, optimise processes, and manage resources effectively to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ILM Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience managing a team of around 30 employees in an assembly automotive setting.
  • Strong understanding of quality conformity requirements within the automotive industry.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and people-centric databases (e.g., SAP, ADP).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Continuous Improvement qualifications (Green/Yellow belt or equivalent).
  • Experience in a startup environment.
  • Previous experience with SQCDP principles.

Working hours: This role operates on a rotating shift pattern, requiring flexibility to work across various shifts to ensure continuous production coverage. You will be responsible for managing your team effectively during each shift to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.
